Local care home launches Blue Light Breakfast Club
The Cotswold Home in Burford has launched a Blue Light Breakfast Club, inviting
local blue light service personnel to drop in for coffee, connection and refreshments
as a way of saying thank you for their dedication and invaluable support in the local
community.
The rationale of the breakfast club is to 'Nourish the heroes who nurture our
community', with residents, families and staff all coming together to warmly welcome
those working across the local support sector.
Blue light workers are those who work, or have worked, for the NHS, the emergency
services, including the police, ambulance, fire and rescue, the teaching community,
social care workers and the armed forces, including personnel at RAF Brize Norton,
which is located nearby.
South Central Ambulance Service attended the event with two of their vehicles,
providing the opportunity for residents to find out more about the ambulances and
the important work carried by the crews on a daily basis. This event is part of
Cotswold Home’s continued commitment to building connections with the community
and recognising the dedication of frontline workers.
General Manager, Rares Pop, commented: “We are very grateful for all the hard
work our blue light workers do and the commitment they make to our community.
Often circumstances can be complex and challenging, and this is our way of giving
back.”
The home provided take-away goody bags with refreshing drinks and food items and
plans to run the event on a monthly basis.
Built in traditional Cotswold style and part of Bradwell Village, The Cotswold Home
offers 51 ensuite rooms, providing residential and nursing care on a respite or long-
term basis. The home is part of the Elizabeth Finn Homes group and is rated
Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
